A story of a fictional community which we shall call Transition Anywhere…May 5th, 2012 4 comments
This story is our first attempt at trying to present the REconomy Project and its content in a new way.
We are using an interactive, zooming application called prezi to present the story. It’s an experiment with a different way to engage people with the content on the website, and it organises things differently. We’d love your feedback on both the story idea, and also what you think of us using prezi like this. Do you like it? Or does it make you feel a bit sea sick?
To see the story, either watch the video at the bottom of the page or click the image below to go to the prezi viewer, then we suggest you click on MORE then FULL SCREEN for your best viewing experience. Then use the right-left arrows to move through the story. Note that if you are viewing in full screen, and you click on a link to a resource (you have to be as zoomed in as possible on a resource for the hyper link to work), then it will usually open in a new window behind the prezi window, and it won’t always tell you it’s there!
You can have a version that you can run offline (needs 26 MB) – let us know if you want this, and we will set up a file transfer to you.
Also you can watch the video below.

Hi,
Lovely and colourful Prezi – Great idea and content on presenting this complex information.
But, I found there was too much writing, and the text font was not definite enough and difficult to read in parts. As I tried to zoom in more to read, the presentation became hard to control and jumped around a bit creating confusion for me.
Thanks Lisa, many thanks for your feedback and I think you are right, it needs more work to make it easier to read and navigate.
Hopefully now the conference is over we can find some time to improve this experience, and maybe we can send you an improved version for you to try out for us over the next month or two?
Thanks, Fiona
Great Presentation!
I embedded the Prezi on my website but you can do the same by just copying the embed code on the share link on your prezi page – then it can be embedded on your page instead of just the image.
This is great Shane!
I’ve been trying for a while to get my head around the role REconomy sees itself playing in the transition to a sane economy and, for me at least, your video has really helped clarify things.
I agree with Lisa that the Prezi itself is not easy to use (but then I’ve not come across them before), but the video is spot-on
I look forward to seeing the Reconomy resources and case studies continuing to develop.
