Case studies and inspiration for budding entrepreneursJuly 22nd, 2012 1 comment
Are you looking for a new direction in life? Does starting up your own enterprise appeal? Do you want to hear more about what others are doing? Here’s a growing range of case studies to help inspire you.
This section provides some stories about how others have changed their lives, and taken a leap into starting up something new – something that reflects their own values about what’s important in life, that they’re passionate about, that pays the bills and that makes their heart sing (while often at times exhausting their body and mind).
Our dream here is to provide you with a virtual Transition high street – a vision of what it might look like if most of the shops and businesses we see in our towns and villages today are Transition Enterprises.
We’ll create a graphical image of this high street (and industrial estate etc.), so that you can take a walk around and pop into, for example, the community bakery, the energy company, the local bank or the farmers market. In each place we’ll link the case studies so you can learn how others have started up these enterprises, and contact them for more info. We’ll also show the links between the different enterprises.
If you are a web designer and can contribute your time and creativity pro-bono to help us realise our dream of this interactive tool, then please get in touch – we really need you as we have no idea how to do this bit.
Got a great case study for this section?
If you’ve spotted an enterprise that’s worth sharing here, please let us know (or post on our facebook page). Ideally we want a summary of the enterprise that more or less follows the format used below in the PDFs – we’re trying to provide the basic info in 2 pages, rather than have everyone trawl through each enterprise’s website.
Until we have a more sexy interactive way to present these, here’s a simple listing of the case studies we currently have, grouped by sector. Just click on each one for a downloadable PDF and contact details:
