Staging local events themed around transforming your local economy is a great way to engage your local community, businesses and other organisations in your REconomy work. In 2014 we will be developing an ‘event in a box’ toolkit that helps you, as organisers and activists, to put on events that are relevant to your community. Meanwhile, here’s write-ups from REconomy events (both national and local), aimed at different audiences, that should provide some inspiration…

More about our ideas for the toolkit:
It will likely be separated into three sections;
1. Content ideas (broken into adaptable modules these could include things strategic session, dragons den, open space, different ways of structuring presentations, the re-imaging the high street session, artistic sessions, the breaks and eating food etc).
2. A community engagement model (community engagement isn’t something that you do just as part of the marketing. It’s best integrated into the very first design phase of your event).
3. Organiser’s profile and financial summary of previous events (some questions and answers from people who have organised economics themed events as well as some practical financial help with likely costs).
